The Poitou-Charentes is a region of west central France located at the Bay of Biscay, between the Loire and Dordogne rivers. The coastal area are plains, with hill country in the hinterland. While there is no extraordinary karst area, there are still a few patches with nice caves. There is some mining and there are some subterranea. All in all we have much less underground tourist sites than in other parts of France.
