Description

The Grotte de la Norée is the only cave in the Vienne open to the public. It is a rather small cave with some nice speleothems, formed inside middle Jurassic limestone. Highlight is the maccaroni chamber, with numerous soda straws which are called maccaroni because they are hollow like the noodles. The cave is operated by the town government, which is supported by the Speleo Club Poitevin. It is located in the nature reserve vallée de la Boivre.
