Description

Veľký Sokol (Big Falcon) is the largest gorge in the Slovak Paradise, It is both the longest and the highest gorge, 6 km long and 300 m height difference. The gorge is also the most narrow gorge, some parts are only 1 m wide. Quite creative are the names of the Malý vodopád (Small waterfall, 8,5 m) and Veľký vodopád (Large waterfall, 7 m). Especially as the higher one is named Small waterfall.

The gorge starts at Píla near Hrabušice. The lower part of the gorge is the same as Gorge Rokle Piecky. But after 1.7 km the two gorges split, Piecky gorge branches off to the right and ends at the Malá Poľana. Veľký Sokol continues straight ahead ends on the Glac plain.
