Košice


The Košice Region is located in the southern part of eastern Slovakia. The Slovak Ore Mountains are a traditional mining area with many mining related museums an show mine. The mountainous area has karstified limestone which is called the Slovak Karst, and there are several show caves. The Slovak Paradise is a mountain range with a great number of gorges and waterfalls. The southern part at the border to Hungary is the Tokaj wine regions, the smallest wine region of Slovakia, which has numerous historic wine cellars.
