Description

Водопад Бигар or Vodopad Bigar (Tufa Waterfall) is actually not a name, its the discription what it is. Typical for karst areas are karst spring with limestone rich water, the carbon dioxide leaves the water, the water is not able to keep the limestone dissolved, so it precipitates. This forms deposits of porous limestone which is called tufa, in Serbian Bigar. The waterfall and the small cave at its foot are a popular tourist site. There is a car park and wooden benches, a nice picnic area named odmorište pored vodopada (rest stop by the waterfall).
