The island Elba is is world famous for several reasons. They have Roman ruins, were home to Napoleon in his exile, and were extensively mined during the 19th and early 20th century, mostly for iron ores. But today the island is most famous for its minerals, obviously the remains of the mining. As a result almost all the mining sites are named mineral museum or such. And actually, the minerals are a blast. So we decided to add a few exceptional mineral museums, even if they are strictly speaking not underground. The origin of the minerals is underground and they were retrieved during mining operations.
