History

Description

Croatia has numerous rimstone pools as the whole country is part of the Dinaric Karst and all rivers are actually limestone rich, because they are fed by karst springs. The most famous and probably most spectacular are the Plitvitze Lakes. But Roški Slap, located in the Nacionalni park Krka, is definitely number 2. A spectacular series of rimstone dams with a staircase of waterfalls. The highway actually crosses the pools, so it is possible to visit the site by car. We recommend nevertheless to leave the car and have a stroll along the river.
