Titova Špilja (Tito's Cave) is one of numerous such caves. During years of fight Tito had numerous hideouts, and many of them were later renamed Tito's Cave. This cave was originally named (Ghost's Cave) and is located below the summit of Hum, the highest hill of Vis. Tito sought refuge after Nazi troops tried to kill him in Drvar, and spent some time in 1944 in this cave. It was transformed into a sort of cave house which provided a safe and comfortable From here he set out to meet Winston Churchill and Stalin.
