History

Description

The Tuffière d´Amorey is one of many tufa deposits in this area. The rocks are limestone and the springs are limestone rich karst springs. This is the smallest and least known of three site we have listed. So if you are looking for a short walk in solitude through a shady forest with a nice brook, this is the best place for you.

The Val d'Amorey is quite exceptional. It has numerous sources, some of them temporary. About 800 m from the car you reach the Source des Moulinots, which forms a sequence of three rimstone pools in the bed of the river. There are no trails or explanatory signs, but the pools with their rather thin dams are easy to identify.
