Description

Grotte d’Amour (Love Cave) or also Grotte d'amour du Hunebourg are a series of small sandstone caves located below the medieval castle Château de Hunebourg. They are reached from the entrance to the castle on a trail leading down to the left on a 500 m long hike. The trail follows a wall of reddish sandstone which has numerous overhanging parts and also numerous small caves. What is special are some human alterations. One cave was equipped with two stone benches and a circular stone table, ideal for a shady snack on hike in the summer.
