History

Description

The Hacienda de Anzo in the municipality of Gáldar is a former farm which was transformed into a hotel. The old mansion was completely restored and decorated with a Canarian-Colonial touch. A lava tube on the property was developed with a stone staircase which leads down into the cave, a flat floor, and electric light. Despite this development it is actually not a show cave, it is used for functions like weddings and other celebrations. Once it was open as a show cave, and it was listed on the website of the spanish show caves association. But it seems the place is quite popular and there are so many weddings that the cave was closed for tourists.
