Důl Hlubina (Hlubina Mine) is one of numerous abandoned coal mines around Ostrava. It was also named Louis Mine, Laušman Mine, and Generál Jeremenko Mine. On the site coal was mined, coke produced from the coal, and iron melted in a blast furnace. The Hlubina site is a valuable industrial heritage site which is used as a cultural location, filming location, for conferences, workshops and discussions.
