Σπήλαιο Αγίας Βαρβάρας (Saint Barbara Cave Church) is a very old and quite small cave church, located at Agios Tychonas. It is only a few meters from the modern chapel of the same name, but it is much older. It is surrounded by the ruins of a small monastic community which is believed to have been erected by Saint John the Merciful. Close to the cave are the ruins of an early Christian basilica, which was also dedicated to Saint Barbara, after the chapel. However, there are little historic facts about the cave church, the basilica and the monastery. The ruins show that the basilica had five aisles and bore mosaic décor on the altar.
