Description

乐业穿洞天坑 (Lè yè chuān dòngtiān kēng, Leye Piercing Tiankeng) or 天坑地缝 (Chuandong Tiankeng) is a huge tiankeng (giant sinkhole) with an opening 370 m long and 150 m wide, and a depth of 200 m. It is not the biggest tiankeng in the area, but it has a spectacular entrance. The visitor walks through 穿洞 (Chuān dòng), a huge cavern which ends at the floor of the tiankeng, and offers an impressive view inside out. The cave has 10 m high stalagmites at the entrance, like the patron saint of Tiankeng. Inside there are 5 m high stalagmites and columns, and 4 m high blunt-topped stalagmites.

More spectacular is the chamber at the southwest end of the tiankeng, which is called Banyuedong. It has a small karstfenster or skylight is named Angel's Kiss in the ceiling with a beam of light shooting down from a height of 108 meters. It makes people feel that the hall is wide and empty. The cave chamber is 70m in diameter and 80m high.
