History

Description

郭亮隧道 (Guō liàng suìdào, Guoliang Wall-Mounted Highway) is a gorge with a road, which is quite infamous. The road was built into the vertical wall of a huge canyon, sometimes by cutting a path into the wall, sometimes inside the tunnels. The road is named after the town Guoliang, which is located at its upper end. A river flowing through the village then cuts deep into the rock and forms a narrow gorge, then the gorge widens to form a huge canyon. The village is the only settlement, except for a few hamlets, in a valley which actually ends. The only possibility to get there is by this road.
