Mt. Gambier Caves


Mt. Gambier is a small town, in the south east corner of South Australia. There are numerous caves in this big karst area, but the highest concentration of karst sights is at Mt. Gambier. There are numerous caves, sinkholes and dolines. The town owes it existence to the water found in the caves.

The underground of the town is full of caves and some cave collapses were used for gardens, like KarstUmpherston Sinkhole and KarstCave Garden.

The tourist information of Mt. Gambier is aware of the interesting geologic sites and provides information about them for tourists.
