Hang Trong or drum cave was named after the wind blowing through the stalactites and stalagmites creating a sound which resembles distant drumbeats. There is also a legend connecting this cave with Hang Trinh Nu (Virgin Grotto), a second cave nearby. There is a stalagmite in Hang Trong resembling the statue of a boy. The sound is said to be the vain scream of the boy.
