1964	construction of the hotel started.

Description

Uçhisar Kaya Otel (Uchisar Kaya Hotel) is called the worlds first cave hotel, which is rather weird. Actually there are hotels in cave around Göreme since the seventies at least, and this hotel is much younger. We guess what they actually wanted to say is that this is the first newly built cave hotel in the area. Actually the other hotels are all renovated cave houses, barns or workshops, which were transformed into hotel rooms. This is a huge hotel which was built at a sort of quarry wall and all the rooms were newly dug.
