Description

Ataman Hotel is a 200 years old cave house which got its current size in the 1950s, when the house was extended. In 1985 the property was acquired by the Ataman family who restored it and converted it into a beautiful hotel. Each room is unique and beautifully decorated in traditional Turkish style. The rooms are spacious and equipped with modern comfort like a modern bathroom. There is a cave bar, a restaurant and extensive terraces.

The hotel is located in the Uzun Dere Valley, where the road from Göreme becomes the walking trail through Pigeon Valley. It is surrounded by Fairy Chimneys, the tower-like erosional remains of the volcanic tufa. Close to the hotel are numerous early Christian rock churches, which may be explored by foot. A research library with books in several languages about Cappadocia will give visitors the necessary background information.
