Kırıkkale Keskin Sulu Mağara is actually simply named Sulu Mağara (Sulu Cave, Aqueous Cave, Water Cave). Unfortunately this name is rather common and thus mixups are a danger. To avoid this it seems the site name is made unique by adding the district and the city name in front. In the town Keskin, right beneath the mosque, is a roofed staircase leading down into the underground. There are passages, which was once were an underground marble quarry, the cave was discovered during the quarrying of the marble. The tour includes three floors and three galleries, which are called the havuzlu salon (hall with the pool), the küplü galeri (gallery with the columns) and the alt maden galerisi (lower mine gallery). Te hall with the pool is a natural karst cave in marble which was known for a long time: It was used as a hideout during the Early Christian period. At this time the artificial widening of the cave started. Narrow passages connecting the natural and artificial sections were built with stone walls. But the mining of the rock continued until right before the opening as a shwo cave. The site is an archaeological site affiliated with the museum Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi (Museum of Anatolian Civilizations).
But even this beautiful and interesting place needs it a dose of nonsense. In 2019 Prof. Dr. Mehmet Eki̇ci̇ of the Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Chest Diseases researched the cave. He determined that the cave had a positive effect on human health. And again we have another cave with rich negative ions which will throw out the positive ions and breathing the air has a pain-relieving effect. A well known pseudo-science babble used by esotericists. Most likely the cited Professor has no idea that they use his research to promote esoteric ideas.
