Akarsu Köyü Mağarası (Akarsu Village Cave) was named after the village Akarsu, where it is located. It seems the huge entrance room is of great archaeological interest. At the moment we do not have more info on this site. Descriptions on the web are even more bloated and insubstantial as usual. It is almost funny, in a sad way: "People say that there are 72 rooms inside the cave." or "This cave is a really big one." And the pictures are mixed up with nearby Cal Cave. The longer descriptions which have popped up lately are AI generated nonsense.
Our current state of knowledge: this cave is listed on various portals, blogs and websites as a show cave. Actually it is a completely undeveloped cave which is only for cavers. The entrance has archaeological remains which were excavated, but we have non found no scientific publication of the results. Additionally, there is a rockfall which destroyed the pretty unkept trail to the cave entrance high up on a hillside. We strongly recommend not to visit the cave and even skip the hike to the cave entrance.
