Description

เดอะกร็อตโต (The Grotto) is a cave restaurant located at the Phra Nang Cave Beach which belongs to the Rayavadee Resort Krabi. This sounds weird, it's at the beach and inside a cave at the same time? The solution is simple, this region is tower karst which was flooded by the sea, the karst towers with their vertical walls form islands. They are full of caves, actually, at sea level, below and above. Here is a resort and the beach of the resort ends with a vertical limestone wall with the huge portal of a cave, the entrance hall even has a ceiling full of stalactites. They paved the rear end the front end is sand from the beach. So you can actually sit at the beach in the shade of a stalactite cave.

This is not just a café, it's a real restaurant. The menu is mostly Mediterranean Cuisine with an Italian touch and seafood BBQ. Quality and price are somewhat above average.
