History

Description

Hinagdanan Cave is located in the most important karst area of the Philippines, the Chocolate Hills. The cave is a huge cavern with several holes in the ceiling and a large cave lake. The cool water of the lake is a popular bathing spot on a hot day, so this is one of very few spots were you take your bathing suit to a cave visit.

However, although this is very popular to locals, we must add a warning word. Some time ago there was a rumour about the water being not clean enough. There is a general danger for foreigners in tropic countries, when bathing in sweetwater. And although it is far below ground, the water comes directly from the surface. Karst water is very sensitive to any kind of water pollution outside.
