The Mapu’a a Vaea are the most famous blowholes of Tonga, located on Tongatapu Island near the town Houma. The sea water rolling on the basaltic cliff is pressed into cave, probably lava tubes or sea cave, and then the high pressure blows sea water through holes into the air. The water fountains are tens of meters high. But the main specialty are series of blowholes which generate a wall of fountains.
