History

Description

Hufangalupe (The Pigeon's Gate) is a natural bridge at the coast of Tonga Tapu. The coral limestone forms a 30 m high steep cliff, but here a huge portal can be found, which is probably the result of a cave collapse. While the sea side of the arch is open to the waves, the land side is an almost circular hole in the ground, probably a collapse doline. The dirt road leading to the arch is crossing the bridge and then continues south along the cliff. This is said to be one of the most scenic spots on Tonga Tapu.
