Description

Widerstandsnest 67 HL is located in Kijkduin, a beach at the western side of The Hague. The site was renovated by the non-profit organisation of the Atlantikwall Museum Scheveningen. They opened 130 m of tunnel and six bunkers to visitors.

The German name of the site is Widerstandsnest 67 HL. It housed, among other things, the Flugwache, a part of the Luftwaffe (German air force) which had to scan the airspace for enemy aircraft. There were dozens or even hundreds of such forts along the coast, most of them in a massive state of disrepair after almost 70 years. This bunker was partly destroyed, most of the complex was demolished for the construction of a shopping center and flats a few years ago. An open trench was also reconstructed, which leads to a so-called Tobruk, a one-man bunker for defence.
