Cenote Secreto Maya (Secret Mayan Cenote) is actually part of a hotel, at the same time this cenote is a public bathing spot. Day visitors can visit the cenote, the pool, and use the wifi. And they offer what they call a nightpass, for swimming at night in the cenote under the moon and the stars. As far as we know this is the only cenote offering this. The nightpass is more expensive but includes transport from Valladolid.
The site actually refers to the fact that cenote translates sacred well, and so visitors are greeted with an individual Mayan blessing at the sacred place. This is a typical cenote, an elliptical lake and vertical walls, trees growing over the rim and long vines hanging down to the water, which are actually roots in search of water. There is a swing rope which lets you feel like Tarzan. There is a wooden platform and a wooden staircase at the wall which leads down to this platform. It’s possible to jump from various heights, the highest jump is 22 m high. The water reaches a depth of 54 m, and there are three waterfilled cave passages starting from the cenote. There is a ticket called the Mayan Adventure, which includes rappelling, Jaguar cave tour, melipona experience and a drink.
The hotel rooms are small cabins scattered throughout the forest. They offer various experiences such as massages, traditional parishcal, Yucatecan food and wellness programmes.
