Cenote Dzonbacal is located in the middle of the forest. It was made accessible by the Carreteras cenotes (cenotes road) which wss built from San Antoni Mulix through the uninhabited forest. This is a waterfilled cave which collapsed, forming a huge doline with a ramp of debris on one side. People walk down this slope on a wooden ramp with railing until they reach the cave river and then swim into the cave passage. In other words, this is a rather rare type of cenote, and not one of those circular holes.
The cenote is managed by the commune, tickets are sold in the village in the Parador San Antonio Mulix. The ticket is valid for two cenotes along the road, the Cenote Dzonbacal and the nearby Cenote X'batun, which are sometimes called Cenotes San Antonio Mulix. Time is restricted to one hour per cenote.
