History

Description

The Gem Museum displays precious jewels such as rubies and sapphires, quality jade lots and the largest pearl of Myanmar which has the size of a beach ball. The jade exhibition is very informative about the jade mining, the environment issues, and the hard work of the miners. A highlight are two murals at the back wall which are made as mosaics of different color minerals and gems. Important for foreign visitors: the exhibits are labeled in Burmese and English!
