Description

The 西湖コウモリ穴 (Saiko Komori-ana) is named after Saiko (Lake Sai) nearby. Together with ShowcaveRyugu Doketsu Iriguchi and ShowcaveNarusawa Fuketsu it is located in the Aokigahara lava flow of the Fuji volcano. The Saiko Bat-Cave Information Center organizes guided walks through the nearby suicide forest and the cave. Unlike the other caves in the area it is not a cold trap, contains no ice and is populated by bats.
