History

Description

Grotta Conza is a small cave, more or less a shelter, with a single semi-elliptical chamber, about 90 m long and 30 m wide. Large blocks on the floor collapsed from the vault and from the walls of the cavity. It is located in a small preserve named "Grotta Conza" Integral Nature Reserve, which was created both because of the archaeological importance of the cave and the fairly rich and diverse fauna. The site also offers a panoramic view of the Piana di Palermo, from the seaside village and the Gulf of Sferracavallo to Monte Pellegrino. The site is managed by the Italian Alpine Club, SICILY Regional Group, who offer tours for groups.
