Description

Goa Terawang is the name for a series of caves, or a cave ruin, where multiple parts of the ceiling have collapsed and only smal sections of the original cave still remain. The cave is located in a karstified liemstone hill which is full of small caves. The cave passages are mostly level and big enough to walk upright, and there is a trail from one cave to the next. The trail starts at the road at the foot of the hill. The collapsed parts hav vertical limestone walls, typical for collapse dolines, there are speleothems all over. The site is open freely, to explore on your own. We recommend good walking shoes and sun protection. A torch is not necessary, but nevertheless a good idea.
