History

Description

Trou de Madame Coco/Tou a Man Coco (Madame Coco’s Hole) is a small sea cave located at the foot of a vertical cliff and actually not accessible. It is reached on a short hike from the Plage de la Porte d'Enfer (Gates of Hell), which is an official beach and has a parking lot at the coastal road. Walking along the eastern side of the long and narrow cove about 500 m the cliff is reached. The view is quite spectacular, and cave is not very long but has some size. If you want to see more spectacular coast and caves you may follow the trail Trace des Falaises to the east for kilometers. It ends at a point right east of Campèche. If you are less fond of hiking you may visit the Chez Coco caribbean restaurant back at the beach instead.
