History

Description

The Abri Cro-Magnon (Cro-Magnon shelter) is a small abri (overhang) in the limestone rocks above the small village Les Eyzies. It is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Dorgogne river valley. This is the place where the first remains of the early man called Cro Magnon man were found. It is what is called a Archaeologytypesite or type locale.
