Temppeliaukion kirkko (Temppeliaukio church) is also called the rock church or Church of the Rock as it is a cavern carved from solid rock. The walls are the rugged surface of the rock, with a row of windows on top, covered by the spectacular copper ceiling. As the acoustics are so good inside, the church is also frequently used for concerts. The architects were Timo Suomalainen and Tuomo Suomalainen. Temppeliaukio church has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, so it is often quite crowded during summer.
