Description

It is worth taking a walk around Mijas, especially the cliff walk as there is a lot of speleological interest. Stalagmite flowstone on cliff face. © Anne Oldham.

The Cuevas de la Antigua Fragua (Caves of the Old Forge) are a series of natural caves which have been enlarged and can be visited free of charge. They are located in the center of Mijas, a small town in Andalucia, one of the Pueblos Blancos (White Villages), named so because of the white painted houses. Mijas sits on a hill with a great view on the Mediterranean Sea. It is worth taking a walk around Mijas, especially the cliff walk as there is a lot of speleological interest.
