Description

织金大峡谷 (Zhijin Grand Canyon) is a canyon-like karst form which is the result of a collapsed river cave. The roofless cave has steep walls, a more or less flat floor, and a remaining part of the ceiling forms a natural bridge. On one end the cave river emerges from its cave, flows through the canyon and vanishes again on the other side.

The whole canyon is protected in the Zhijin Grand Canyon Park. It was also recently developed with a parking lot and an outlook on the southeastern rim near the village Dacaokou. But the main feature is a 108 m high elevator which brings visitors down to the floor of the polje. From hear a trail lead down into the gorge, crosses the river amd the follows the river through the batural bridge and the cave at the end of the valle. From here it climbs out of the canyon in serpentines and ends at a parking lot.
