History

Description

Twannbachschlucht is the gorge of the small rivulet Twannbach. The Twannbach flows into the Bielersee at the small village Twann. Immediately before it reaches the lake, between Lamboing and Twann, it crosses the final escarpment of the Jura mountains forming this gorge. The lower end is crossed by a walking trail with some bridges, the upper end of the gorge is accessible by two roads, one from Chros to Lamboing, the other one from Schernelz to Lamboing. The lower part ist actually the more impressive, a walk along the rivulet uphill to the Restaurant Twannbachschlucht at the upper end takes about an hour.
