History

Description

Gruta da Boa Sorte (Good Luck Cave) is a cave church inside a natural cavern, which is used for weekly masses and for celebrations. The cave is actually a single chamber with a triangular profile and a huge entrance portal. The cave church is used by the locals and not known as a tourist site, so there are actually very few visitors. Nevertheless, as a church it is open for everyone, just dress appropriately.
