History

Description

Vodopad Kravica (Kravica Waterfall) is a sort of amphitheater with a diameter of 120 meters. The semicircular waterfall is about 28 m high, the river Trebizat is 54 m asl above the waterfall and 28 m asl below the waterfall. Over the year water level and vegetation change strongly, so each season offers a different experience. The reason why this is listed on showcaves.com is simple: it is a karst feature. Similar to the more famous Plitvice Lakes, this dam in the river is caused by the deposition of limestone from the limestone rich karst water.

While waterfalls and other surface structures are normally freely accessible, this waterfall is part of a Park, but not a National Park it’s a municipal park. Nevertheless, it seems to be intended to protect the site. The park has several sites, this is only one of them. It’s possible to visit Koćuša waterfall, Franciscan Museum in Humac, Roman military camp ih Gracine, Herceg Stjepan Fortres and Tombstones "stećci" ih Ljubuški with the same ticket.
