History

Description

Blackfellows Hand Cave was a meeting place for the Aboriginal tribes of the area who named it Maiyingu Marragu. The large rock overhang and shelter is a place of cultural significance, and shows well-preserved Aboriginal drawings of hands and weapons. The shelter included a separate men’s and women's area, in addition to a women’s birthing area. Note that this area is of cultural significance, do not touch or in any way damage the paintings. The walking trail to this cave is short an easy.
