Cave Creek Mistress Mine was a tourist mine located in the Sonora desert northeast of Cave Creek. The mine was operated as a tourist mine, and gold was still mined by hand, like in the 1880s. The mining operations were both tourist attractions and real mining producing some gold. The income from both source obviously made a living.
The mine was destroyed by the Cave Creek Complex fire in 2005. This fire started 21-JUN-2005 by a lightning strike, then destroyed almost 1,000km² which made it Arizonas second largest wildfire. The destruction of the mine was
