Mines View Park is an outlook which offers an impressive view on Baguio City and on the open cast mines of the area. The popular spot was delisted from the Department of Tourism (DoT) list of tourist spots in 2000. The reason was the development of a labyrinth of huts of vendors which aggresively sold all kinds of goods to the tourists. This actually caused some opposition and in 2010 the major of Baguio City invested money to build a shopping mall for all the vendors and clear the park for the tourists.
