Geology

Description

The Erzweg Gersdorf (Gersdorf ore path) is a so-called area monument for facilities of the Saxon silver mining industry. It has been maintained by the non-profit association Segen Gottes Erbstolln e.V. since 1980. The most important thing on the ore trail is, of course, the Segen Gottes Erbstolln show mine. In addition, there is also the Adam Stolln whose mouth hole is not far from the Freiberg Mulde. The association has equipped the path with various explanatory panels (in German only), so that it can be walked freely and free of charge. However, the guided tours of the mine require an appointment. Noteworthy is an old water hoist and the mine building. A total of 36 mining monuments has been preserved by the association and is now part of the trail. The trail is a total of 5.7 km long and has a difference in altitude of 100 m. You should expect about 2 hours with the stops at each station.
