Iowa

Iowa is a state in the Midwest, a huge plain drained by shallow valleys and slow flowing rivers. There are no spectacular gorges and not many caves, and most of the caves are filled with water, as the incision of the rivers is more or less stagnant. There are karst areas and caves, and even two show caves. And there are numerous ice caves, probably related to the fact that the winters in Iowa are quite cold. The climate is continental, with hot summers and cold winters, and ideal situation for cold traps.
