Jämtland County


Jämtland Län is landlocked at the border to Norway. The landscape is undulating hills, many lakes,wetland, and some crystalline hills which reach 1,000 m asl. The geology is the same as in most of Sweden, an old craton which is more or less not suitable for karst. But there are some patches of limestone which are karstified, and so the Län has not only one of two show caves in the country, there are also several cave trekking tours.
