Vestland is a Norwegian county (fylke) which was formed 2020 through the merger of the counties of Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane, excluding the municipality of Hornindal. Sogn og Fjordane was named after the spectacular fjords, like Nordfjorden, Førdefjorden, and Sognefjorden. The longest fjord is Nærøyfjord, which is located in the south of the county, and is listed on the UNESCO WHL. It is famous for spectacular glaciers like Jostedalsbreen, in the Breheimen mountain range. There are few underground sites, but there are glacier caves, show mines and even a tectonic cave worth visiting. As both fylke actually have quite similar geography and geology and rather few underground sites, we decided to merge the two pages.
