Basilicata

Basilicata is a rural region in the southern part of Italy. Located between Calabria, the toes of the Italian boot, and Apulia, the heel of the boot, it is an area with natural beauty and ancient culture. Today it is rural, rather low in population, and thus rather poor. There are only small areas with caves, but a lot of artificial caves, especially cave houses and churches at the town Matera.
