Underground Mining is when mining occurs underground. To reach a large deposit of valuable ores which are deep underground, a tunnel or shaft is created. Through this access the material for mining is transported into the mine, the resources and probably waste material are transported out of the mine. For this purpose there is in modern mines some kind of transportation machinery, for example, a conveyor belt, a mine train, or a mine elevator. During this mining process there are two different intentions, development mining that deals with overburden and obstacles, and production mining that extracts minerals and ores.
