Qarku I Beratit (Berat County) is located in the center of Albania, and so it has no border to the sea nor to another country. The county is dominated by the Tomorr massif, a mountain ridge which is also dubbed the Throne of Gods. The highest mountain in the county is Mount Shpirag (2,416 m asl). The mountains consist of limestone and are karstified, but it also has gorges and subaerial drainage.
